An unusual opportunity to complete what is already a nearly finished 6 bed 6 bath fully restored cortijo overlooking the lovely Spanish villages of Arboleas and La Alfoquia and the mighty Rambla de Almanzora with mountain views to the rear. Included in the sale is also a 3 bed static home and a large metal shipping container perfect for storage or a man cave!
The current owners have completely refurbished this spacious cortijo internally to provide the extensive accommodation of 6 bedrooms all with en suite bathrooms perfect for the larger family or perhaps a home with an income including thoughtful disabled access to two downstairs bedrooms. A further 4 bedrooms are on the second floor.
This property is perfect for people looking to purchase a property with a few small projects to complete but nothing so big to defeat them and in particular a wonderful opportunity for gardeners to create landscapes around the cortijo which would greatly enhance this lovely property.
The photos have been taken from the back of the property inwards and the door is accessed from a gentle slope and enters into a long corridor off which are the two downstairs bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. To the left is access to a washroom/laundry room and small office. To the end you come in to the lounge off which is the fully fitted modern kitchen and also a dining room with double doors out to an area which could be terraced to make the most of the stunning views over the Rambla to the villages of Arboleas and Alfoquia. They have also installed the front door to the property from the lounge also. There is a fireplace in the lounge which is currently boarded up but could easily accommodate a log burner or sealed fireplace for lovely log fires during the cooler winter evenings.
From the corridor you will find the marble laid stairs up to the second floor and the further 4 double bedrooms with en suites. There is a large master bedroom with a built in wardrobe, en suite with bath and a double door which has access to a spacious private terrace giving views to the countryside to the side and the mountains behind with sunshine from midday onwards if wanted.
The cortijo is currently accessed by a short camino style track from a tarmaced main road although the owners had been given permission to install a tarmaced road up to the property from the main road which is now in need of some repair and is not currently used. Advice should be sought from the local Town Hall about safety features for this entrance such as a mirror to see oncoming traffic but would finish this property off very well and ease access up to the front door.
The large plot of land around the property needs to be tidied and landscaped but there are 3 very large olive trees there already established and has yielded a few litres of olive oil for the owners over past years.
To the rear of the property stands a well maintained 3 bedroom static home which the owners used to live in while restoring the cortijo but could be used perhaps as extra holiday accommodation if required. They also brought with them a large steel shipping container which is also included in the price and will be a great place for extra storage, bikes, tools and so on.
Overall, there is a little bit of work still left to do including the final painting/rendering of the outside of the property, a few final little jobs inside the house to completely finish off including a fireplace perhaps and the landscaping of the land around the property. It should be noted that there is a ruin attached to the far side of the house which is apparently for sale but should not impede the privacy and tranquility of this property. It would not be possible to have an inbuilt swimming pool but the lay of the land would certainly allow for an above ground pool to be installed allowing level access from the front terrace - my imagination is running wild - will yours?
