This charming village house has been renovated in the main to a high standard and is in a lovely position within the beautiful Spanish village of Arboleas, just 15 minutes drive from the large market towns of Albox and Huercal Overa.
The current layout is to enter from the street through a large wooden double door into a large hallway, to the right you will find a fully fitted American style kitchen with a view from the sink area on to the street. The staircase leading up to the second floor has been beautifully and colourfully tiled in an Andalucian style with handrails on either side. They head up to a long hallway off which you will find a good sized family bathroom, two large double bedrooms and a smaller box room, ideal for a baby or perhaps as a laundry or dressing room?
The two large double bedrooms also have the added benefit of access out on to delightful spacious balconies with views out over the village roof tops to the countryside in the distance. A wonderful space for someone to sit in the sun, have lunch with friends or just relax with a book.
The final part to this lovely house is a cellar (sotano) under the house which needs to be restored (electricity has been installed). You will need to duck to enter from an entrance in the street but once inside you find another 3 large rooms with standing room. It perhaps does need damp proofing as you can smell the moisture in the air and on reflection, because of the size of the house above, it may be possible to look at installing an internal staircase directly down to the basement which would be great for a kids playroom, office or of course a workshop.
It is possible to drive to the house to deliver shopping and so on but there is no actual parking place connected to the house. However, the main village carpark is just a short walk away.
Overall, this is a large spacious and light family home realistically priced in a very popular Spanish village. It has a lot more potential, would be ideal as a lock up and leave holiday home, for investment purposes as a rental or to simply live and integrate into a Spanish way of life! There is air conditioning throughout.
Arboleas village is very popular and active with an established expat community as well as friendly local Spanish people and its own helpful Town Hall. There are bars, restaurants, a small supermarket, hairdressers, beauty salon, banks, infant and junior schools and other facilities to ensure comfortable all year round living. Every Saturday there is a busy street market along the bank of the awesome Rio Almanzora (also known as a rambla or dry river bed until it rains). Here you can buy anything from a saucepan to an English birthday card and wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables.
