This is not a project for the feint hearted certainly but when restored this cortijo del pueblo will provide a large family home in an idyllic Spanish village just a short distance from the town of Antas and from the beaches of Mojacar and Vera Playa.

 

Originally 2 houses, this property has a lot of potential to provide a family home or perhaps a home with an income.  The property comes with a large plot of land ensuring that no properties can be built behind or in front and although some is mountainous there are areas which could be made into a vegetable garden or fenced off for pets.  The views from the main part of the house are to mountains and the peace and tranquillity that surrounds the village is lovely.

There are still many signs of original features within the house such as fireplaces and shelving and show a glimpse of what can be done to bring it back to its traditional splendour.  

A large number of the downstairs ceilings are in very good condition surprisingly with newer wooden beams and the cane coverings.

Overall, this could be a light and spacious town house on the edge of a small Spanish village with excellent access to the main Autovia Mediterraneo (E15/A7) and just 20 minutes from the beaches at Mojacar, Vera and Garrucha.  The town of Antas is less than 15 minutes away and you will find there supermarkets, banks, shops, schools and so on.  There is a market there every Monday where you can buy your fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese and cold meats for the week. The Airports of Alicante, San Javier (Murcia) and Almeria are 1hr 50mins, 1hr 30mins and 45mins respectively.

Although there are no shops in the village there are vans that bring bread, fruit and veg etc and will come every day/week.

This is an ideal village for soaking in the Spanish atmosphere.
